I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I too, had to make the same decision last night. My little protector was also 5 1/2 years old. He had just had surgery on his back in August, and then last week all the same problems started coming back. This time he lost feeling in both back legs. It was so hard because he is the center of my everything. A true "Mommy's boy". His name was Oxie, and he was my silver dapple "oxie the doxie".
