Linda & Peter, Leah & I were so sorry to hear of Toby's passing. Dogs become part of your family every bit as much as most humans can. She always brought so much joy to us and all the guests whenever we visited. We hope to spend yet another anniversary at the beautiful Ashling Cottage....but will miss your Toby terribly. Heartfelt condolences. - Jason & Leah

We are so very sorry for your loss. Paul and I were just talking about Toby the other day!!!! I decided to check your website to see if Ashling Cottage was still standing after Sandy!!!!! My beloved companion of 18 years went to "doggy heaven" 2 years ago. I could not get out of bed for a week!!!! Toby was a beautiful , gentle animal and you were wonderful parents!!!!

Linda & Peter, I just checked your website to see how you faired during the hurricane and I came across the sad message about Toby. Our heartfelt condolences; we didn't meet Toby until this past July, but what a sweetheart! We are so sorry for your loss. As a dog lover and mommy to one myself, I know how much they become a part of the family. May you find peace and comfort in all the wonderful memories you had with Toby. Tracy and Brian Scholten

We had the pleasure of meeting Toby in July 2012 and she was sweet and fragile but kissed me and wagged her tail. I know she is in a better place with my Oreo and Sandy. With our deepest sympathy. Karen and Mike Asch

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Toby. Please find comfort in knowing that Toby is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. I am sure that Toby and Spooky have become good friends. They will not go quietly, the pets who've shared our lives. In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives. Old habits still can make us think we hear them at the door Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor. Our feet still go around the place the food dish use to be, And, sometimes, coming home at night, we miss them terribly. And although time may bring new friends and a new food dish to fill, That one place in our hearts belongs to them.... and always will. - Author unknown. I am so sorry for your loss but I do hope that this poem offers you some comfort. Blessings………………….. Joyce

Dear Linda and Peter, he's beautiful and precious in his picture. What a wonderful blessing that Toby came into your lives many years ago and became your treasure every day he was with you. Now sweet Toby brings happiness to his many new furfriends at the rainbow meadow. He romps with joy in a new world full of love and fun, knowing all along that he will be reunited with his earthly family someday. I know this is all true because my two kitties, Inky and Bubba Lou, are at the rainbow meadow, too. I wish you blessings of healing and peace, dear friends. We will see our furry little loved ones at the rainbow bridge someday. I understand and care. Jane

My Sidney was on the bridge to welcome Toby to his new home. They are chasing sunbeams and telling "tails" of their great lives. I have asked them to send you a rainbow from heaven above, a upside down smile. When you miss Toby the most, listen to your heart, his love and paw print are there.
