Memories of Apples the Guide Dog & Harper Girl
Our Guide Dog, Harper Girl, was born on Dec 13, 2000 and passed to the Bridge March 15, 2013

Apples dates are: May 14, 1995 to Feb 14, 2008

OUR SON, APPLES.

Apples was a Guide Dog and when he retired, he became a therapy dog at the VA In Buffalo, NY. He was also a Seizure Service Dog. Everyday of his life was devoted to helping people. He was Daddy's eyes. He saved Daddy's life many times, even being hit by a car pushing his Daddy out of the way. He was voted Top Hero Dog with thousands of votes, and was featured in Dog Fancy Magazine, December 2007 issue. Rest In Peace, Baby, and take care of the DOSMAN. We Love you more than words can say.

OUR BABY HARPER GIRL.

HARPER GIRL WAS A GUIDE DOG BEYOND COMPARE. SHE FILLED OUR LIVES AND HEARTS WITH UNCONDITIONAL LOVE EVERY DAY OF HER LIFE. SHE NEVER COMPLAINED OR EVEN BARKED, JUST WAGGED HER TAIL UNTIL THE VERY END. SOMEDAY DOWN THAT LONG, LONG PATH YOU'LL HEAR US CALL YOUR NAME. WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU UNTIL THE END OF TIME.

I saw you gently weeping as you looked through photographs You paused for just a moment at one that made you laugh. But as you turned more pages the tears began to flow You whispered that you missed me but I want you to know; I softly licked those stinging tears that down your cheeks did fall I want to help you understand I haven't left at all. On those days that you are overcome with sorrow, pain and grief I rest my head upon your leg to offer some relief. When you take our walking path I've seen you turn around Because I know you surely heard my paws upon the ground. At night while you are sleeping I snuggle at your side You stroke my fur as you touch that place where I used to lie. You said it's just your heart playing tricks upon your mind But rest assured I'm really there, my spirit's left behind. I know your heart is hurting; it's like an open sore You think my life has ended and you won't see me anymore. But for those of us bound tight by love, death is not the curtain call; It's really the eternal beginning that waits for us all So, dear Master as you live your life I patiently await For us to be together when you pass through Heaven's gate.

We walked together through the years, You were a special friend. When I was sad, your loving eyes Would often help me mend. Whenever sadness came my way, Your happy tail was there. And troubles never seemed so bad When you were here to care. The love you showed was heaven-sent, You brought me so much cheer. I'll not forget my little friend, I wish you were still here.

Apples, Sweetheart... Today, Valentine's Day, is your first Anniversary at the Bridge. It hasn't gotten easier. Daddy and I miss you more than anything in the world, and we would do anything to bring you back to us again. You are always in our minds and hearts, and there will NEVER be another YOU. We love you, Baby Boy.... Mommie and Daddy

Precious Apples, today is the day DosMan left us for the Bridge 4 years ago, and next month is your departure date of 4 years ago. It's been so hard without you. Not a single day goes by that we don't think of you! Mommie always cries, Daddy gets watery eyes, because you are missed sooo very much! There will NEVER be another Guide Dog quite as wonderful as you were! Now Little Louie has joined you boys. He left 12 days ago and I am hoping you met him at the gates and gave him kisses like you used to. Precious App, our lives will never be the same without you. Please visit us often. You are always welcome home whenever you want to be here. We love you so much!
.....Love forever...Your Mommie and Daddy
