Memories of Baby Doll
Baby Doll, a precious Peek-a-poo, came to us at five years of age after she lost her first owner and has given us more than 12 years of love and joy than we ever dreamed possible and left us today, leaving a big emtpy spot in our lives and hearts. We called her our "bionic dog" after a hip replacement, knee "correction" and she was also a breast cancer survivor! She loved to dance and should have worn a tutu since she was a darling ballerina. She also loved to rip and race all over the neighborhood with one or all of us chasing after her, and only responded to our panting pleas when she was good and ready! Baby is truly best friend, family and love rolled into one tiny bundle. God blessed us with a tiny bit of joy - and she shall always live on in our hearts and will always be the wind beneath our wings. God speed to you, Baby Doll, the sweetest doggie angel. And may He keep you safe, warm and within His loving embrace until we meet again.

Lend Me a Pup
I will lend to you for awhile
a puppy, God said,
For you to love her while she lives
and to mourn for her when she is gone.
Maybe for 12 or 14 years,
or maybe for 2 or 3
But will you, till I call her back
take care of her for me?
She'll bring her charms to gladden you
and (should her stay be brief)
you'll always have her memories
as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise that she will stay
since all from Earth return,
But there are lessons taught below
I want this pup to learn.
I've looked the whole world over
in search of teachers true
And from the fold that crowd life's land
I have chosen you.
Now will you give her all your love
Nor think the labor vain,
nor hate me when I come to take my pup back again?
I fancied that I heard them say,
"Dear Lord, Thy Will Be Done,"
For all the joys this pup will bring
the risk of grief you'll run.
Will you shelter her with tenderness,
Will you love her while you may?
And for the happiness you'll know forever grateful stay.
But should I call her back
much sooner than you've planned,
please brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.
If, by your love, you've managed
my wishes to achieve,
In memory of her that you've loved,
cherish every moment with your faithful bundle, and know she loved you too.

Hi, Baby! Thought I'd visit and let you know all is well! Your Daddy reminisced this weekend and he still misses you SO much! Sophie has become so much like you in mannerism - just how much did you teach her way back in the day? It's been an eventful year, but not a day goes by that you are not missed. I know you are having a wonderful time at RB and just knowing you are waiting there for us brings comfort. Love ya and sending hugs and kisses - Grannie

Hi, Baby Doll! Am visiting today (again) - and thought I'd post a note. Every time I walk in the backyard, I remember you and most especially those last days of your life. I shall always feel like there is more I could have done than I did ... but I know better. Doesn't help much because you are not here with us today. Your Mamma & Daddy are great parents to your Sissie Maggie & we all wish you could be with them. You could give Maggie so much love and affection! You probably would have had a blast at Disney!! I know you are sending doggie kisses from Rainbow Bridge while you wait patiently for all of us. I still tear up when I think of you - for you were my baby's best friend. And I shall always thank God for sending you to us. And I know you will be there for us, along with Chip & Chew & DeeDee and all the Keen Kritters! Until then, you shall always live on in our hearts! Hugs & kisses - Grannie

I've visited this site many times this year and sniffled quite a bit! Still miss you - but know you are happy and without pain & loving every minute of this time! Your sister is growing in leaps and bounds and has given your mother a full life - although she still misses you, too. She knows she cannot ever replace you - but she would so love for you to come back and be Maggie's friend and companion as you were to her. You know ALL her secrets! Baby, we miss you - and I still wish there had been a miracle and things could have gone back to the way they were. Enjoy your days at the Bridge - and I look forward to being reunited one fine day ... I really do love you and miss you! Until we meet again, Hugs & kisses - "Grannie"

Please also visit Chewie, Chippie and LingLing.
