Katie's Rainbows Bridge Guest Book

Return to Katie's Rainbows Bridge Residency

We were priveledged to meet Katie 10 and a half years ago when we visited Bob and Kay to pick out a puppy from Annie and Shamus' litter. I spent most of the time falling in love with Katie and that was the beginning of a very long love affair with Newfoundlands. Shortly after, our handsom boy Samson came home with us and has been our very best friend ever since. Katie was Sam's grandma and he has the very same way of giving hugs as she did. Talk about awesome genes! Thank you, Katie for showing our family what it means to love a Newfoundland. We will never forget you.

To the Family of beautiful Katie: I am so very happy that you shared this story of your girl. I had to read the story twice because I laughed and cried and just felt like I knew her. As humans we tend to treat our pets like humans/children and the devotion we have to eachother is sometime more of a bond then you have with a human friend. Dogs may not say words like you and I but they sure have a lot to say with there personality and I believe that is what makes them so wonderful. You never need to tell them how you feel, Your dog just knows.. That in it self is amazing to me. I fell in love with the pictures and I send my prayer but also my blessings. It seems to me she was a blessing to you and everyone that knew Katie. She tought you and the others the true meaning of love and friendship. Thank you for the sweetest story, it really filled my heart. Candace A Williamson

So sorry to hear of your loss of Katie. So incredibly hard to comprehend the loss of what many times, is our best friend. Our Newfy Jack was just diagnosed with Stage 5 lymphoma and we have brought him home to be comfortable in his last days. Only 6 years old and such a loving member of our family. It has helped to read your tribute to Katie and makes us realize we are among others that treasure the bond and loyalty that a dog establishes with their family.

Dear Bob and Kay, What a lovely tribute to a great newf. Katie was one of the sweetness and will always be in our hearts. Though she is gone she lives on in Tippy, Tonya, Bristles and all the rest of the kids. All you need do is look at them and you will see her whether it is a flip of a tail or a tilt of a head. Katie is with all of us who have one of your wonderful newfs. All our love, Darlene Riggs and Bristles

It is so good to read that others have found the love and companionship that I did as well in the past with my beloved Draco. He was not a Newfy but a very unusual gentle giant Rotie. I lost him last summer at age 9 due to a rare cancer. I never thought I would feel such love, comfort and companionship again,...and then I met Rosie :) She is such a light in my life an so full of love that she helped heal my heart in such a dramatic way. I will always miss and grieve for my Draco, but with Rosie I will never feel alone or lost again.

Katie, What a big beautiful girl you are! I know you are looking after all of our little ones there at the Bridge. You were such a good Mommy on earth. Be sure you send Mom & Dad a sign to let them know you are happy. They miss you a lot. You can even pay them a visit in a dream now & then! Run free my friend!

Bob and Kay, We're so glad we got to know Katie before she passed. We know what a huge part she was to your lives and we know how much you loved her (and she loved you.) We're very blessed to have two beautiful Newfs with Katie's blood line. Katie really proved that dogs who are truly loved and well cared for can live a truly happy life long beyond what is "expected." We can only pray we have the same wonderful years with our "babies" that you all had with Katie. Sincerely, Jeff, Paula, Ethan, Wookie, and Barkley Kozlowski

My deepest sympathies to you and your family on your loss. I do know what it is like to lose a loved one, whether Human or one of our special, furry babies. Having lost quite a few of my own and doing dog rescue, it is never easy. From my house of 8 furr babies, to yours, we wish you the best. If you ever need to write or talk on the phone please let me know. I will be there for you. You here her woofing as she hasn't left. They are always with us, we just don't see them. Pat Lively

Katie...each year there is a very special Holiday in November. Each year going forward, that time of year is going to be especially hard for your mommy & daddy, for that is the day you made the Rainbow your new home. Perhaps as time goes on, Kay & Bob can at least be thankful you went peacefully in your sleep, sweet baby girl. I will always treasure that my Dusty, too, went in his sleep nestled on his favorite blue blanket. I can just imagine, Katie, you've settled in so nicely at your new home. My wish for you is two-fold: may you find many new toys to play with (though nothing will ever quite replace your favorite hedgehog toy, will it?) and may you find many crystal clear water filled ponds to relax in. I'm sure the many Rainbow ponds will remind you of home, until your parents will one day reunite with you to cross the bridge together. Your paw prints are forever etched in Bob and Kay's heart, beloved Katie.

Dear Kay and Bob one could only pray that God would take all our babies as they sleep, there is no easy way to say goodbye but I often pray that if my babies go they go at home as they sleep, so they can leave one world full of love and wake up in paradise. My wish for you are days filled with beautiful memories and that your Katie sends you lots of rainbows to let you know that she is now your guardian angel.

What a beautiful tribute to a wonderfully special Newfie. She has passed on the wonder in so many ways-her legacy lives on for all of us and you through the love of her family of newfies. And especially for me.

Katie - What a gorgeous ball of black fur you have with that cute pink tongue hanging out! You gave your family so much love and affection and they are missing you so much. Send them some kisses from the Rainbow to let them know you are safe, happy, healthy and have a lot of fur buddies to play with. You can sit in the clear waters at the Bridge all that you want. Let mom and dad know that God has appointed you to be their protector until they are called to the Bridge to join you one day. I will tell my Brande to find you and play with you. To Kay & Bob - I send you my deepest regrets over your loss at this time. I too lost my soulmate not long ago, see Brande http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/BRAND167/Resident.htm - We know that God has promised we will be with our babies again one day. I leave this quote with you, "heaven is the only place where all the dogs and cats you have ever loved will come running to meet you." Author Unknown

Hello, pretty Katie, welcome to the forever sunny meadow by Rainbow Bridge. Your Mom, Dad, and fur family miss you so...they mdae you a beautiful place at RB and wrote wonderful words about you. We asked our Pressy to welcome you and be your playmate to chase golden sunbeams together. She'll be your big sister with Kata to show you wonders of the bright Paradise meadow and teach you how to send love signs on the wind to Mom, Dad, and your fur family so soon they'll feel your sweet doggie hugs and kisses in the gentle evening breeze. You're now their shining star guardian angel until they come to cross the Bridge to be together again for all time. We'll ask they not be so sad but remember you're in their hearts forever. Run fast to play with Kata, Leo, Princess, Misty, Brande, Caleb, Dusty, Sadie, Cyrano, and the other furbabies but stop often to smile down on Mom, Dad, and your fur family so they know you're with them always. Rest with angels, beloved Katie. Pressy's Grandpa
