I just found this web site -- it was recommended to me by a friend after my pet died yesterday -- I still think about the disaster Katrina was for beloved pets -- I still pray for them and will be sure to donate to those you mention

May the atrosity that took place during that disaster NEVER take place again. It is because so many pets lives & human lives were lost that day & the days following that we NOW have a law in place that WILL allow us to take our precious cargo with us if a disaster strikes. It should NOT have taken this disaster to open the eyes of those in charge & realize that we will not leave our babies behind. If that had been me, you would have seen me on top of my house WITH my babies waiting to be helped. And if I could NOT take my baby on a bus, then I would NOT get on a bus. But to be told that if you get on the bus, your baby will be taken care of & then it is shot or turned loose to fend for itself is NOT..I repeat NOT acceptable. May all of the humans & babies that lost their lives during Katrina reast in peace. May they all be together at the Bridge. What a horrible way to leave this earth.

May SOS stand for "Save Our "Snowballs" (as in that pooch that wasn't allowed on the evacuation bus.).

Remembering all of you today; the many humans & furbabies who lost their lives in this tragedy. Thinking of the many who were displaced never to return to thier previous homes; all the furbabies who have add to overcome their fears & adjust to new people; and all those still in shelters, watching & waiting for a loved one to come. Bless you ALL.

My thoughts and prayers to all the families who lost their loved ones that day. My prayers go out to the families who have yet to be reunited with their loved ones. May God give you peace within your hearts and comfort you in your loss and be with you during the rebuilding of your homes and your lives. Until that great and glorious day when we will all be together with our loved ones.

Hello to all the furbabies, birds and others that didn't make it out of Katrina safely. I am so sorry what happened to you. You are all now in heaven with God and someday someone that you knew will come to meet you again. Those of you that didn't have homes then God will surely let you be his.

God Bless you all, sweet angels, as you run and romp and eat and drink to your hearts' content. So much has come about in the last year-you did not leave this Earth in vain. All of the rescuers think of you all and can't wait to see you and love you again at the Rainbow Bridge. Judy-Say hello to my heart babies: Bungee, Rudy, Buggie, Miranda, Cassie, Orea, Xanadu, and all the other animals I loved so much. Bless you on this day, the first anniversary of Katrina.
