I read Usdi's story and I was so shocked. I also am so sorry your precious baby had to go through what she did. I just wish there was something I could do. I did ask my vet about Vetalog and was told that he would never use that except in extreme cases and that the pet would have to be monitored during the use. He said there were too many side effects with that drug. I wish my vet had been your vet. I have sent your pet's link to many of my friends that have pets. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Beloved Usdi, I'm thinking of you today, another marker has come and I know you're celebrating your life with all your friends. Time has not helped your mom find the healing she needs and I ask you to help her come to that place where she can let go of the pain and go on with the love and memories - it's hard to do sometimes but that's my wish for your mom. Thank you for sending her new furloves to make her smile, you sure know how to pick cute babies! Now run and play with your friends but when you're done having fun, gather up all your love and wrap it in Usdi kisses and send it to your mom on the wings of a butterfly! Sissy, I'm thinking of you today on your Usdi's 3 year marker. I know how hard it is we lost our girls within a day of each other. I know your heart is still broken as mine is. We will see our girls again one day. Every day that passes just brings us closer to being with them again.
Try to have wonderful memories today and I hope she can somehow get a sign to you that shows you that she is thinking of you to. Sometimes I think that I don't want Misty to think of me as I do her because I don't want her to have the pain of missing me like I do her. You are in my thoughts and prayers today.

I just went to the website of your sweet baby girl. I am so sorry for what happened. I lost my sweet beagle boy Rusty on 12/11/09. He too had algery problems over the years but thank God I had a vet who did blood work each year. Rusty died of cancer at the age of 13 1/2 and a huge part of me died too. I know of the wonderful love you shared with your girl, beagles are the most loving dogs. I believe most vets are too ready to just give meds to relieve the symptons and don't even think to find the cause. During Rusty's later years I put him on grape seed extract for his algeries and it worked wonders. Most vets looked at me like I had two heads. When they found a tumor in his adrenal gland I again treated him with natural meds. They gave him six months to live, he lived for 12 months. Again, I am so sorry for what happened. Just know that our beloved babies are happy and health now and both of them are waiting for us.

I am so sorry you had to go through such a heartbreaking event. My Lexie girl, the sweetest yellow lab on the planet, is suffering from allergise so bad and was given vetalog, it is not working so thanks for sharing your story about this drug. She has scratched her ears and eyes so much even after the injection I have to take her back to the vet for swollen ears and a swollen eye. Anyway, losing a pet is one of the hardest things we ever have to do in our life and this story has taught me that every day is precious. I have four dogs and do not know how you can ever prepare yourself to say goodbye but just know Usdi is at peace now and you did everything you could and are not to feel guilty. These vets are supposed to be able to diagnose and figure these things out and this one did not do his job. He should have his license taken away as far as I am concerned. Hopefully, someday, another fur baby will come into your life and relieve some of your pain. Again, so sorry for your loss

Sometimes, I sing the words to myself, "When we've been there 10,000 years...bright shining as the sun...We've no less days to sing God's praise, then when we've first begun..." And I softly picture you furbabies at the Rainbow, I think how much more appropriate could that song be for you there? You are all in a place where time stands still... where birthdays are a celebration of life...of the life you had with us, and the life you now have in the soft beautiful hues of the Rainbow. One day, we'll re-join you, in a place where we, too, will be bright shining as the sun... Until then, thank you for helping to keep the magic alive in all of our hearts here on our side of the Rainbow...
