Memories of Butkus
Butkus came to us on a late October Sunday in 2001 and wrapped his always wagging tail around our hearts. He lived everyday of his life to make his family happy. He never met a human he didn't love. All he ever asked for was a bowl of food, cold clean water, someone to play a game of catch with, and someone to love.

He was a true retriever. He loved his tennis balls and a good game of fetch. He loved to swim and retrieve whatever was thrown in to the water. Playful and happy with an ever wagging tail, you were never alone when he was with you.

He was content laying by your side, walking with you or going for his beloved car rides, where his keen sense of smell worked overtime, hoping there was an Egg McMuffin up around the bend.

A belly scratch and an ear rub made his day complete.

Even as he became sick and weak from his cancer affliction, he tried to make us happy as we tried to comfort him. He used all his energy loving us until the end. And in the end he left us with dignity and a lifetime of memories.

The good Lord, blessed us with this unique and wonderful friend, who will remain in our heart's all of our days.

RIP, Olee's Intimidating Butkus, romp and play until we meet again for a game of catch.
