11/22/04 - Little Sugar Plum, our Pumpkin Pie... we will never get over losing you. You were our first and our most special pup. You will always be The #1 Pup. Memories of our life with you keep flooding our minds: the long walks at Blackwell North, playing Ball and Glove, lighting the "grilla" for you, cookie monster bowls and steak bones, building our house with you in mind, the vacations in Door County, cheering on the Chicago Blackhawks and the Cubs, how you fought so hard to live when you became ill... the memories are endless. Everywhere we look there is something that reminds us of you, little girl. The furry sister and brothers you left behind have been mourning your passing, too. We know Annie greeted you at Rainbow Bridge with a loud, happy "wap", and Daisy will be nuzzling you. Remember this?: "Hello Dolly, well hello Dolly, it's so nice to have you back where you belong." Except home is no longer where you belong... you are with God and your sisters at Rainbow Bridge, and we will patiently wait for the day when we all can be together again. "I will miss you most of all when 'Autumn Leaves' start to fall." Sweet dreams, Punky, and take good care of Annie and Daisy. 4/21/05 Happy Birthday, Punky! Tonight we are lighting the "grilla" to cook your favorite... porterhouse steaks. And we are playing your favorite on the turntable, "Blues in Orbit". We are smiling through our tears as we remember how beloved you are. Don't forget how much you are loved and that you will ALWAYS be The #1 Pup. Wishing you the sweetest of dreams tonight, our love. 11/22/05 Oh, Blackhawk, we can't believe it was a year ago today that you crossed The Bridge. When the Autumn leaves started turning this year, we remembered the long walks in the forest preserves with you. We miss you just as much now as we did a year ago. We are lighting the "grilla" in your honor and will toast your star tonight. Peaches is trying very hard to meet up to your standards as Top Pup, but she knows she will never be The #1 Pup... nobody will ever take that from you. And Cubbie and Rocky are doing their best to fill the void we are feeling, too. God may have taken "My Sunshine" away, but it's only temporary because someday we'll be with you again. You will never truly know how much you're loved... never. Goodnight, our beloved Punky, and we'll see you in our dreams. 04/21/2006 Happy Birthday, Blackhawk!! You would have been 15 years old today. Mummy reminded me that today is your birthday, and I remember when we first picked you up at Fin and Feather and we stopped to get some binkies on the way home. Our hearts ache that you are no longer with us on this earth, but we cherish the memories and love we shared and some day we will be together again. A kiss on the crown from Mummy and Daddy on your birthday, Pumpkin Pie. 11/22/06 Two years since you started your journey to the bridge. Oh Punky, sometimes it seems like ages since we last held you, and sometimes it seems like just yesterday. The other day we were looking through our photos and your whole life rolled by in our minds. We still miss you so very, very much. Peaches is holding up her status as Top Pup very well. She is honored that you handed the baton to her, and you would be very proud of her. I was thinking today how you loved to go for walks and walk through houses under construction. As if you remembered our happiness when our house was being built. Some days I think I hear you barking. Maybe I really do hear you, barking from Rainbow Bridge to let me know you're okay. We love you so, Blackhawk. You are still and always will be the #1 Pup.
