Memories of Duke
|
Duke, we did everything we could to save you from the cancer. I so hoped and prayed that you would go into remission and be with me longer, but I am happy for the few extra months I got. I am also glad that, once you decided to cross Rainbow Bridge, you went with God. I will miss your sweet disposition, your big ears, your love, your begging for chicken strips, your following me everywhere, your feet in the water bowl, and other little quirky traits you picked up from Storm. You had no bad habits, and I so wish you had been able to pass that on to Rocky. My heart will always ache for you, my dear friend, and I will always love and miss you. I am glad Storm and I walked a different way that day back in Oct. of 1999 and saw you sitting in the neighbor's yard. You gave so much joy to my life, and I truly thank you for that. Good bye my friend. No more pain and suffering and no more cancer. You can run and play again. I am sure Storm will be glad to see you. Almost a year now, Duke, and we are always talking about you and telling Rocky what a good dog you were. I wish you had been able to teach him more before you got sick. He barks too much but is very sweet and he misses you too. May 20, 2012. It seems like you have been gone longer than a year, Duke. We miss you every day and always talk about what a good dog you were. My brother, John, in the Philippines, says you are the best dog he ever knew. Some kind person signed your guest book today on this first anniversary of your passing, which was very nice. Bye for now, my friend. I love you. |
