Memories of Elle
Elle was the best dog in the world. She never bit anyone in her life! She peed on command! She was a good girl. When a puppy entered her world towards the end of her life, she had nothing but patience for her! She accompanied me everywhere and she will be sorely missed. She had a long, happy life except for the end when her tumor created havoc in her body. The puppy, Macha, kept her active till the end and when we came home after letting Elle go, Macha sat staring at the door waiting for her big sister to come in. When my husband first brought her home at 3 months old with two hot pink bows on her ears, I didn't want the responsibility and long term commitment a dog requires, but she attached herself to me immediately and it was only a few short months before I attached myself to her as well. No time was a good time to say goodbye and I think I kept her alive more than I should have but she never complained, until the vet said it would be cruel to not let her go and if she were his dog he would let her go. I know it would have just been a matter of a short time before she passed naturally, but it would have been painful and uncomfortable - at least she got to go sleeping and relaxed. The house is too empty without her and I feel as if she is irreplaceable. If she could come back a little younger, healthy and not in pain, I would have her here in a heartbeat.
