Memories of GW

GW came to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in 1998. Though he was FIV+, that never slowed him down a minute. Neither did having only one eye make any difference to him. He was a kitty who mentored all the other FIV+ kitties with whom he lived. He was a lover, not a fighter, and all who met him, whether kitties or people instantly fell in love. He was a born lap kitty, and all we had to do was say his name, and he would come and stay in your lap as long as you were willing. GW, brave heart, we will miss you, but the cancer had just gotten too much, and the pain was there. We know that you are across the Bridge, mentoring other kitties and showing them the love that you showed here. Just know that Carolyn, Mark, Sharon, and your other caregivers at Best Friends, along with us will miss you. Room 4 won't quite be the same without you, so watch over us and for us and all the kitties, until we meet again and cross the Bridge together. You are soooo loved! And if I go, while you are still here... Know that I still live on, Vibrating to a different measure, Behind a thin veil that you cannot see through. You will not see me, so you must have faith. I will wait there for the time when we can soar together again, both aware of each other. Until then, live your life to the fullest. And when you need me, just whisper my name in your heart, ...I will be there. 3/25/08 - Dear One, I miss visiting you at BF and having you climb right into my lap. You are so special, and we know that you greet all the kitties who cross the Bridge. We will see you again one day and hold you once more. Until then, we love you. Clare & Martha 12/3/08 - Precious GW, we know that you are so nice and warm in your snuggy bed with the pillows and blankets, there by the fireplace, enjoying the crackling fire, gazing at the beautiful Christmas trees all trimmed in gold and silver, and watching the gentle snowfall outside the windows of your warm, safe home. The angels watch over you and snuggle you in their loving arms. We will see you again one day in God's time, never to be parted again. Merry Christmas, dear one. Clare and Martha 12/31/08 - Dear One, please watch over us in 2009 as you have watched over us in 2008. We love you and miss you and we know that we'll be together again. Take the new ones under your gentle paw as they cross the Bridge and let them know that they are loved. You are precious to us. Clare and Martha 2/7/09 - Happy Valentine's Day, dearest boy. You are in our hearts forever and always. Clare & Martha 3/3/09 - Happy Easter, sweet one. We miss you and think of you often. You remain tucked in our hearts forever.
