Memories of Heaven

I hand fed Heaven as her parents abandoned her. Since that time we became, Mother and Daughter and best friends. She taught me so much. How intelligent Doves are and how they think, act and feel. You could see her beautiful and gentle soul in her eyes. Our love for each other you could feel in the air. I tried to let her be as free as possible as she hated her cage. When I would walk up to her she would turn her back to me and shape her wings into a heart shape. I love you mommy. She also taught me it was okay to get mad and to express your feelings in an honest manner. Her little beak would push out and her little eyes would be blazing if she wasn't happy. I never doubted her love when she did that and always knew she loved me. She would get over it quickly and show me it was okay to feel all my feelings and to express them. If I wasn't quite getting what she needed she would figure out a way to show me. That little loving brain was always working and she ran this house. She would sit on my knee and preen for hours. We took naps together and snuggling was our favorite past time. When she took a bath, she would fly to my head and then to her favorite blanket to dry and take a nap. She opened my heart and my eyes to more love then I could ever image. I will always be eternally grateful for the short time we had together and for the messages and signs she has given me since going home, including a rainbow. I live each day in her honor and of the highest just for her. She has made me a better person and I know she will be the first in line to come get me when I go home. You helped relieve some of the agony in my heart at losing you. I will work on the things you want me to work on as you are helping me from above. My beautiful holy spirit above my head that will continue to heal me and make me remember who I really am. There really are no words to say how much I love you and what a gift from God you are.
