I will wait there for the time when we can soar together again, both aware of each other. Until then, live your life to the fullest. And when you need me, just whisper my name in your heart, ...I will be there. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. Our sweet Katy has embarked on her next great adventure. At 1:30 on December 8, 2010, she crossed Rainbows Bridge with the help of our loved vet, Dr. Kathy and Michele, her vet tech. It was an easy and painless transition. We had to make the difficult decision after knowing this morning that we had done all we could do for our precious girl who had graced our lives and home with her gentle presence for ten years. We had adopted her, along with Tashi, from a no-kill shelter in Southern California, in August 2000, after our BG crossed Rainbows Bridge. They both moved with us to Utah in 2002 where we have lived since then. Katy was diagnosed with renal failure in the spring of 2008 and thanks to the great medications that Dr. Kathy prescribed, had done very well until the fall of this year. She was receiving subcutaneous fluid every 3rd day and taking her oral meds like the little lady that she was. However, in the past week or so, we noted a decline in her appetite until 2-3 days ago, she was only barely licking at her "glop." I (Clare) tried assist feeding her which she absolutely hated! And then she decided that she was tired of taking her oral meds, and forcing them on her just wasn't the loving thing to do. So Martha and I made the painful decision to help her cross Rainbows Bridge where health, happiness and peace prevail. It is a beautiful place with lots of lovely meadows to play in, lots of kitty and doggy friends to be with, angels' laps to snooze in and warm blankets to snuggle in. We know that she is now our special Christmas angel, watching over us and for us, along with BG and Mittens and all the others who met her at the Bridge.....Joe, Maxine, Pirlie Girlie, Gorby, Daffodil, Bear and so many others. We know that our BG has especially taken her under his paw and is showing her all around that wonderful place. Christmas is really beautiful there! Thank you all for your love and support over the past two years and thank you for loving us and our girls. A big special thank you to Dr. Kathy Backus and Michele and Christine at Kanab Veterinary Clinic/Hospital for all their loving care of Katy during her struggle with the renal failure. We love you all so much. Dearest Katy, you are tucked away in our hearts, and we know that you are whole, happy and healthy...no more needles or pills...just lots of good food, a sunny spot to nap in...St. Francis and your guardian angel to watch over you...BG to take you under his paw and walk with you...and love beyond compare. Please remember always that we love you to the moon and beyond and that we'll see you again one day in God's time. Watch over us, please, with your love. You have such beautiful eyes, full of gentleness, peace and grace! You remain in our hearts forever. Your mommies.... 12/10/10 - Precious Katy, you are always and forever our sweetest Sugar Cookie. You are deeply loved by your mommies. Merry Christmas, dear one. We wish you could have been here with us, but you ARE with us. Your gentle presence is felt deep in our hearts. Your mommies... 12/14/10 - Little Sugar Cookie, it has been almost a week since you left to start your new adventure there across the Bridge. We just wanted to let you know how much you are loved. Thank you for touching Tashi and us with your sweetest love whilst you were here with us and now even more than ever now that you are with your special angel, BG and all the others. We will see you again one day. You are tucked in our hearts in a very special place, sweetest Katydid. All our love now at Christmastime and always until we meet again. Your mommies... 12/18/10 - Precious Little Girl, you are loved to the moon and back. We know that you are celebrating a very special Christmas there with BG and all the friends that you have made. It must be so beautiful with all the gold and silver Christmas trees, the warm fire in the fireplaces, and the beauty of being in God's presence. May your very own guardian angel hold you close and let you know how much you are loved by your mommies here. We'll celebrate Christmas there with you one day. Please watch over us and Tashi until then. You are cherished. Your mommies and Tashi... 12/21/10 - Christmas is getting closer, and your mommy Clare's heart is aching. I know that you are in a far better place, with so much beauty there. I love you and want you to know that my love for you will go on forever. One day I'll come to be with you again, and there will be no more parting. Stay close to our BG and know that both of you are loved so very much. Both of your mommies love you with all of their hearts and so does your sister, Tashi.... 12/24/10 - It's Christmas Eve, dearest Katy, and we know that you are gazing with rapt attention at the beautifully decorated trees and watching the snow fall gently outside the windows. Please look down on us along with BG and Mittens and watch over us this Christmas. We so wanted you to be right here with us for Christmas, but we knew that your spirit and heart longed to be home in that beautiful place where there is no more pain, only gladness and youth and so many dear friends. We love you, beautiful girl, our Sugar Cookie, and want you to know that you are tucked in our hearts in a Katy-shaped place that is yours and only yours. Snuggle into the lap of your guardian angel and know that we love you forever and always....Your mommies and your sister, Tashi.... 12/26/10 - Precious Katy, Sugar Cookie, you have a wonderful memorial that was created especially for you in the form of a lovely pencil drawing of an angel holding you. It was created by a wonderful artist by the name of Robin. We are going to have it framed so it can be near you always. Thank you with all of our hearts for sending us such beautiful sunsets, not just on 12/8/10, when you made your journey to the Bridge, but every night since then...with all the reds, pinks, purples, brilliant in color, letting us know that you are safe in the arms of God. You are our special little girl, and we know that you and BG are keeping a close eye on us from that beautiful place. God keep you safe, and may your guardian angel hold you close to her loving heart until we meet again and cross the Bridge together. We love you so much...Your mommies and your sister, Tashi... 12/30/10 - Fast away the old year passes, and 2011 will soon be upon us. We will be bringing you home from Dr. Kathy's on Monday morning. We hope your special urn that we got for you will be here by then. Please know that we love you with all of our hearts and that we hold you close in our hearts always. It probably was kinda' strange there for a while without me, your mom Clare, hovering over you, but we also know that so many new friends met you at the Bridge and took you home to that incredibly, gloriously beautiful place where there is no more pain, only glad joy. We'll come to be with you one day for sure. We love you more than you can ever know....Your mommies and your sister, Tashi.... 1/1/11 - Happy New Year, Sugar Cookie. We know that you are well and happy at the beginning of this New Year. Watch over us, little one, and we'll be together again one day with you, BG and all the others. We love you so much! Your mommies and sister, Tashi... 1/6/11 - It is the Epiphany, and we visit you with the gift of our love always. Your beautiful urn, your final resting place, arrived yesterday. We know that you are pleased. It is in beautiful hues of lavendar and purple, and we are getting it warmed here in the home that you knew and loved, and will place you there with love and grace. We know that you are watching over us from across the Bridge and that the silver thread of love that binds us heart to heart will never be broken. Your sweet spirit graces our hearts and home until we are together again. We love you and always will. Your mommies and sister, Tashi... 1/16/11 - Sweetest Katy, how I (your Mommy Clare) miss carrying you to the front door so that you could see out and watch what was going on outside especially when your Mommy Martha was out walking. You would watch her walk by and I just knew you were sending your love to her. 3:30 in the afternoon is very difficult for me right now since that was one of your many feeding times during the day. We know that your guardian angel is seeing to it that you get all kinds of wonderful foodies and is watching over you all the time. Just know, Sugar Cookie, that you are loved and thought about muchly. We all love you so much....Your Mommies and sister, Tashi.... 1/25/11 - "If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again." That is so human, isn't it, dearest Katy? We would have kept you with us forever, but your body was so tired, and we knew you wanted to go home. We know that St. Francis and your guardian angel take turns cradling you in their arms, and take you to the Bridge so you can peek over and watch over us here in this home where you are loved so very much. Please always keep a paw on our lives along with BG and Mittens and all the others, and we'll all be together again one day. We love you with all our hearts and you are so cherished! Your Mommies and sister, Tashi.... 1/25/11 - Beloved Katy, Jayne's precious Whitey came to join all of you at the Bridge yesterday afternoon, 1/24/11. She is now with you, BG, Mittens and all her friends from Furry Friends Haven who have come before. Please take her under your paw and take care of her. She probably is a little bit bewildered right now, but we know that her guardian angel and St. Francis, are right there with her and will help in making her feel right at home. She will watch over her mommy, Jayne, and all the others still here at the Haven. Please show her all the wonders of that beautiful place and stay with her. We love you all so much. You are always in our hearts, and we send you our love all the time on the wings of angels. We love you forever and always. Your mommies and sister, Tashi 2/25/11 - Sweetest little girl, we know that you are doing all the things you ever dreamed of, and that you are watching over us all the time with all the love in your heart. Your mommies and sister, Tashi 3/8/11 - Precious Little Girl, our Angel Katy, it has now been 3 months since you crossed the Bridge, and you are still and always a loving presence in our lives and home. Please help his Friends from the Haven to surround him with kitty love as he gets used to being in that heavenly place. We know that you will and we are so proud of you. We love you to the moon and back forever and always, your moms and sister, Tashi 8/14/11 - My sweet little girl, in just five days, I'll be 71 years old, and I want you to know that on my birthday, I'll be thinking of you and wishing that I could carry you to the front door so we could look outside together. I miss you so much and sometimes my heart hurts a lot, but I know that St. Francis and your guardian angel are watching over you and cuddling you close, and God's light of love is shining on you always. We'll be together again one day, and in the meantime, please know that I love you sooooo much. One day we will be together again forever and always. Christmas is right around the corner, and we know that you are watching the angels decorating the beautiful trees there with silver and gold. We can just see your eyes wide with wonder and delight. And we know that BG is right there with you. Please remember that you are always with us, in our hearts and thoughts, and one day we'll all be together again. We love you and BG with all our hearts. Your mommies and sister, Tashi 12/8/11 - Dearest Katy, sweetest Sugar Cookie, this is your very first anniversary at the Bridge, and we come to visit with our love and to let you know that your precious presence is always in our hearts and home along with BG and Mittens. You are forever and always in our hearts. We know that there is a grand banquet being prepared in your honor and in honor of all those who crossed the Bridge on this date, no matter what year. We are certain that everyone will be there, and one day we will be there too. Right now we ask that you send special paw hugs and whisker kisses to us and to your beloved sister, Tashi. We are all doing well, and we just want you to know that you have a very special place in our hearts forever and always. We love you sooooooo much, and we can see those big bright eyes shining with love for us too. May God, the Angels, St. Francis and Bast take really good care of you for us until we're all together again forever. You are so loved!
