12.24.2009... MERRY CHRISTMAS little lady. We miss you so much. We know that Bucky will make sure that your stocking is full to the brim. WE LOVE YOU TO THE MOON & BACK!!! xoxo

11.28.2009... well another year has passed without you in our lives. Today, I saw the artwork that POMM is doing for daddy for Christmas. It's beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes. I know daddy will love it. You have a nice day with the family. xoxo

11.25.2009... HAPPY THANKSGIVING my precious girl... xoxo

Our sweet Cocker Spaniel...one of MANY dogs that would be a part of my adult life. Lady Wendy & Bucky. Bucky has his own memory page.

Lady Wendy...just as sweet as Bucky. She was very "girlie". She was just beautiful. She had that beautiful, long flowing fawn hair. She loved to be around children. She loved to chase her human "brother" around the front yard. When Colleen(you can read about Colleen in Buckys story) would sleep in the buggy, Lady would sleep next to her on the couch. She was never far away.

Lady loved being outside. She enjoyed having her "spa" days. Where she went to get groomed, she would always get good report cards from her day at the spa. That was a good thing. Lady would pull out her bows within the first hour or so. But they looked cute while they lasted.

She was such a BIG part of our lives. Always bringing us laughter & joy. She loved getting her Christmas stockings. There was always something yummy in them. And she knew it.

Not long after Bucky was diagnosed with CANCER, Lady started not acting right. Her eating had changed. Since I had become PARANOID, I started checking her. That's when I found...LUMPS. She, too, had CANCER. And so we started her on chemo also.

Lady did NOT respond well to the chemo. She was only able to handle a few of the treatments. She became very ill & was NOT having a good quality of life.

One morning, she was having a HORRIBLE start to her day. I won't go into details. It was AWFUL. I knew she could NOT go through the day feeling the way she was feeling. With my husband at work & me NOT able to get in touch with him, I HAD to make a decision. A decision I did NOT want to have to make ALONE. I called her vet, Dr. Lowe, & a trip was made. I thought MAYBE he could give her something for the upset tummy. There was NOTHING that could help her. So I HAD to take her to her Dr. This would end up being her FINAL TRIP. She would only get WORSE if I allowed her to go on. With her DADDY at work, he could NOT be there to hold his LITTLE GIRL as she left this world. I KNEW that if I HAD let her go for the day, I would have found her dead in the backyard. So Lady Wendy & I made THAT trip to the vet. I did NOT want her to leave this world ALONE so lucky for her, Dr. Lowes' daughter, Renee, was working that day & she HELD Lady Wendy in her arms as she passed to the Bridge. THANK YOU RENEE. THANK YOU FOR DOING SOMETHING THAT I JUST CAN NOT DO.

When it was over, I stepped back into the room & said my GOOD-BYES. I gave her SMOOCHES & told her how much I LOVED HER. I had to leave the vets WITHOUT our little girl.

Before leaving, I asked that when they came to pick her up to take her to the crematory, that they NOT throw her into the back of the truck. She was to be placed GENTLY into the back. I was told that they would make sure that she was treated properly. She was our beautiful baby...she was NOT trash so she was NOT to be treated as such.

So when my husband came home from work & our son from school, they were told the NOT SO GOOD NEWS.

WE DID WHAT WE HAD TO DO TO SHOW OUR LITTLE GIRL THAT WE LOVED HER MORE THAN LIFE ITSELF...WE SAID GOOD-BYE TO HER THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING. WE DID GIVE THANKS FOR HER BEING IN OUR LIVES.

We were hoping that she would do as well on the chemo as Bucky did BUT we weren't as fortunate with her. And we could NOT live with ourselves knowing that she was having such a HARD TIME with the chemo. Her oncologist had told us that she might not react well. As with humans...some do & some don't.

Aker was able to spend a few months with Lady Wendy. They became good friends. When she left us, she left a puppy VERY LONELY. Aker would NOT only lose Lady Wendy, but he would lose Bucky only a few weeks later.

So this is the story of our LADY WENDY. A beautiful Cocker Spaniel who holds a special place in our hearts.

WE LOVE YOU LADY WENDY & WE MISS YOU SO VERY MUCH. WE LOVE YOU TO THE MOON & BACK. DON'T EVERY FORGET THAT.

YOU ARE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS.

MOMMY & DADDY
