My Dear Marley, I basically stole you from your owner when I heard you were being used as bait in pit bull fights. You were only nine months old and already had numerous scars all over your body from where the other dogs bit you. You were supposed to be my "foster" child. I even had a good home lined up for you but after one week of your love I just couldn't give you away. You got allong with your siblings......most of the time....except for Taco. You and her got in horrible fights. We assumed you were the instigator as you had the history, and besides Taco always seemed to be the one shook up and hurt. We spent money and time on special training.....medications....barriers...etc. Your Dad and I got in a fight almost everytime you and Taco fought as we just didn't know how to stop it and they terrified all of us. He wanted to give you away on more then a few occasions. I would half heartedly agree and then never do it. You were my girl no matter what. And it didn't make sense. The kids would hang all over you. Puppies could get in your face. And you never showed one once of aggression. But with Taco..... And then the "newbies" came along and other fights broke out. It was then that we finally realized that Taco was starting the fights. You were just trying to defend yourself. All these years you were misunderstood. You were actually the most mellow, cool, NONAGGRESSIVE dog we had. You were named after Bob Marley as you always seemed so chilled as if you maybe smoked a little something..... These last few months have been difficult watching you lose weight and having trouble getting around but I know you enjoyed your special bed and your Scooby Snack bribery. Thank you for the kisses you gave dad and I before you left us. It made us realize that we did what you wanted and I know you are not suffering at all. Be cool Big Girl. Go play with Bobbi and behave yourself with Taco. I know the two of you can be best friends. With all my love. I miss you so much. But be careful you already have a bit of a weight problem To my brother Beckham: I leave my lizard chasing ability and talent. To my sister Tootsie: I leave my special icecream snacks with Dad. To my best brother Rommel: I leave my special orthopedic bed for your old bones while I wait for you at Rainbow Bridge. To my Dad: I leave my leash so that one day you can save another dog and take her on a long walk. To my Mom: I leave my Heart.
