Merlin, you charmed everyone you met and will be missed more than you can ever know. When I found you, yesterday, I thought it was a cruel joke that was being played and that, at any minute, you would turn over on your back and wait for your tummy to be rubbed. You dominated the house and your sisters and brothers and never ceased trying to keep them in line. You enjoyed life and let everyone know it when you were always ready for play and a cuddle. I don't believe your heart failed because it was too full of fun and love for that....it simply burst and spread all the laughter and the tricks into the universe when you died. You were the male counterpart to my beloved Varya and she will be there to guide you to your resting place where Pepper, Whiskey, and Casey wait for you to make you feel at home. From your hillside you can all watch over me and Trixie, Scotty, Brandy, and Heathcliff and keep the love you brought to us all alive, forever. Sleep well my wonderful, wonderful cat. You will never be forgotten.|
*** Brandy is now with you and I just want you to promise me that you will not be mean to her and, as with Cassie, remember she is delicate. She can bring wonderful feelings to you and you can teach her a lot about fun. Just remember that, sometimes, your playfullness was a bit much for her. So, respect her and love her and show her all the new little tricks you have thought up so she can have fun with you, too
*** I cannot believe that 5 years have passed. So much has happened since that time and yet it seems as if it were just yesterday that you were with me. I still feel guilty about your getting out of the house and spending the night outside. Yet, I would never have thought that something like that would be the end for you. If you watch over us, you will see that my little dog, PUCK, has so much of your spirit and, sometimes, I think he is doing things as directed by you. In reading over all that everyone has written in about you, it is obvious that your handsome-ness was apparent to all. I miss you, you little devil. I think by now you have met Heathcliff who, like you, died all too young and too suddenly. Isn't he beautiful? I bet you, two, are great pals by now. I love you Merlin and will carry you in my heart, always
Merlin's People Parent(s), Joan, would appreciate knowing you have visited their Merlin's Memorial Residency.
