Miss Meister Silence reminds us of the sounds we hear no more The tiny clickety-clack across the hardwood floor The commanding retort from the single note so sharp Now slowly remanded to the storehouse of our heart What of the view of her forward march, strong chest Flowing feet and princess strut upon the hill's crest? Oh memories that flow too furious and fast to view I know that in time I will cherish each as if new But now, the present so empty and void of repair To the everlasting emotions that spun through the air As that last moment crashed by unrestrained and dense With finality, we see our love need not make sense. We give our selves to the creature that at no moment gave less Than a wholeness of being defined by more than we could caress Then the slim twilight winked her eyes closed As grief swept my being before her final repose But the heavens knew her extraordinary world Thus, as day broke, ocean of clouds unfurled Brought forth great beauty, with the rarest snow As if to share in our profound sorrow The depth of loss was the complete measure For all the abundant memory we shall forever treasure This pure blanket of snow describes her essence from birth The wonderful life, her gift to us, melts into the earth
