Memories of Misty Beebe

Misty was very talkative and would always answer me with various meow tones whenever I spoke to her. She liked to wash my face and ears. She liked earwax and would lick it off my fingers. As a kitten she learned on her own to spring open her cage door with her paw. She also climbed up to the top of the cage and swung on the top rungs like a monkey, front paws hanging on, hind legs and tail hanging down. She was very intelligent like a person. She would rub on my fingers to mark me as hers. She was very laid back, like her mother, Keedie. Nothing bothered her. I could pick her up and hold her, even swing her and she would just purr away. She was calico with 2 double paws, extra toes on her front paws only. She had stripes in her calico colors including the tabby cat "m." Her tail had rings on it. But she had alot of white fur. She hated having her picture taken. The flash frightened her, making it difficult to get good pictures of her, till near the end when she realized the camcorder wouldn't flash at her. Then she gave me some very entertaining home videos and picture images to remember her by. She liked to "dig" at her water before drinking it, putting a paw in the bowl and splashing water all around. She was my little baby. She was very loving and loved to be held and fussed over. She hated the dogs and the other cats in the house, preferring to be the one and only. She liked people. She used to hit and bully her half brother, SnowPuff. Although she was the runt of her litter, she was a strong survivor and fought for her food and her place in life. I watched her being born in the wee hours of the morning on April 2nd, 1993 and helped clean her off after birth. I was the first person to ever hold her. She never lived outdoors, although her mother had been an abandoned stray who found her way to my window. When she died, I was with her right to the end. I was the last sight she saw before she drifted away. She was my angel in fur. I love her and miss her terribly. My tears are flowing freely for her now. We had 15 wonderful years together. I'm so happy she was part of my life.
