Memories of Molly

My beloved lhasa-poo Molly lost her 2 1/2 year battle with kidney failure today at the age of 15 yrs, 1 month and 30 days. Her condition remained fairly stable until this fall but took a rapid turn for the worse on November 15 when she developed acute gastrointestinal complications that made every bite of food agonizing to swallow. Her weight plummeted; it became obvious that keeping her alive any longer was cruel.
I will miss our long walks in the woods, our backpacking trips and just sitting on the deck of our cabin watching the sunset on the lake.
Remember, Molly the time we were walking on the Tuscarora Trail and you flushed out about 50 wild turkeys. You looked so smug! Or the time you chased a bear up Devil's Backbone. And the time we were backpacking with Buddy the hound who had to be carried the last 8 miles. You got impatient, ran ahead and stepped on a snake. Both you and the snake were so startled that the two of you jumped 4 feet in the air.
I miss you so much but know you are enjoying the company of the other dogs on Rainbow Bridge. I will see you again, sweetie.
Baby girl, it has been a week since you went to Rainbow Bridge. Mommy and Buddy and Diamond miss you so much but I know you are no longer suffering.
Dr. Bonnie sent me a picture when you first went to visit her. You were short haired and curly! I have always seen you with 8 inch long wavy hair. Kind of a surprise. I love you and miss you so much.
Merry Christmas cutie. Buddy, Diamond and mommie send you our love. It's hard to believe it has been a month today.
Happy Valentine's day, sweetie!
It is Easter tomorrow. We have had a very warm spring. I will be opening up our summer cabin next week. It will seem so strange to not have you there; you loved the place so much. Miss you; love you.
Here we are, midsummer and I haven't been to the cabin since April. Broken foot means no hiking. Love you little girl.
Happy 16th birthday!
It has been a year since we took that last car ride to the vet. I miss you so much.
Happy holidays little girl!
