Memories of Mouse

Mouse came to us in an unusual way on a summer afternoon in 1991. We were working in the yard when I heard a cat meowing but could not see anything. Then my husband pointed up at a tall tree, and there was a grey cat sitting on a branch next to the trunk of the tree. We got a ladder and put it at the end of the branch since it would not reach the trunk. I climbed up the ladder and pulled the branch down toward me. The cat walked down the branch to me and let me put him on my shoulders and stayed there until I was back on the ground. Then he jumped to the ground and began rubbing up aganst my legs an purring. I reached down to pet him and realized how thin he was! We had cat food available since we alredy had 2 cats, so we fed him. He lived in the backyard for a couple of days until I got a chance to take him to the vet. Once he got a clean bill of health and had gained a little weight, we had him neutered and bathed, then brought him inside to join Loki and Minx as part of our kitty family. Minx went to the Rainbow Bridge in October of 1997, and Loki in November of 1998. Mouse joined them today, May 1, 2010.
