I'll never forget when Daddy and I brought you home. You were so happy...and then I made the biggest mistake. I've always been good about introducing everyone slowly but I just plopped you down in the middle of all the other boys. Cyrus was fine w/you as I knew he would be, but Caleb not so much. He would corner you and terrorize you. You were so unhappy and withdrew. Caleb died unexpectedly a year later but it still took you quite awhile to come out of your shell....but when you finally did, you became the sweetest, lovable mush. I remember how we asked for kisses and you would lick our faces. In the morning when you wanted to eat you would jump on the bed and lick my face and head to wake me up. You became quite the beggar at food time, but we spoiled you rotten. We will miss how you used to climb up as high as you could on the cat tree, bend backwards and cry. I think you thought you were an acrobat. You were a sweet sweet boy with not a mean bone in your body and we were lucky to have had the honor of sharing our home with you for over 14 1/2 years. You will forever be loved and missed. |
