Just 4 days shy of her 9th birthday, our "Penny girl", succumbed to her battle with the kidney disease she had bravely fought for over 3 years. She was an amazing dog. Her joy for life never ceased given her health issues. She loved hiking, walking, playing fetch with the tennis ball, swimming up at my son's ranch, and being our best friend and companion. She moved around the country with us being born and living in Dallas, Texas, then moving to Sisters, Oregon where we retired. After living there in two different homes, we moved to Virginia. She lived in Charlottesville and Nellysford, VA over the next three years. We decided to move back to Sisters, Oregon where we live to this day. She loved living here--with hiking, walking, swimming, and retrieving the tennis ball, her favorite activities. Being closely monitored by our local vet, we knew her life would be cut short due to this illness. We dreaded this day. Our vet was amazed that she lived as long as she did given her lab values, which were constantly worsening with every testing. We are very happy we had her with us for as long as we did. She will be sorely missed by all the members of our family, both human and canine.|
July 12, 2010--today is your birthday, sweet Penny Girl. Happy Birthday from Mom, Dad, Sharon, Nancy, Tom, Tim and Family, Chester, Sophie, Tate, Quincy, Dora, Otis and Riley. We are thinking of you today and hoping you are having a special birthday at RainbowsBridge with all you new and old friends. We love you and miss you more with every passing day. July 14, 2010--Today I picked up your ashes, dear Penny Girl. It was a sad day once again. I feel your spirit near now which is helpful to my healing heart. I know you are happy up at RainbowsBridge running and chasing all those tennis balls people have left for you. What fun! I miss our play time after dinner. I hope that Sophie and Chester will take up where you left off playing fetch. Be happy, my sweet girl. You're always on my mind. Love, MOM
July 8, 2011--It's been a year today that you left our lives for Rainbow Bridge. It hardly seems possible a year has gone by. We can still see you across the street on the green running after the tennis ball. I still feel your presence around the house. I know you are having fun up there with all our other dear departed animals and your new friends. We have a new member of the family by the name of Comet. He joins Chester and Sophie and guess what? He LOVES to play fetch with the tennis ball, just like you. I put my favorite picture of you on this website. I have it on my screensaver and say hello to you every day. What a beautiful girl. You're in our thoughts and our hearts always. Lots of love, MOM & DAD XOXOXO
June 30, 2012--Can't believe another year has passed since you left us. We will always hold your memories dear to our hearts. Our family is well and Chester and Sophie and Comet are taking up where you left off with ball fetching, running on the trails, and bring joy and love back into our lives. I still have your pictures on my screensaver and in frames around the house. My, you were a beautiful girl. We have a new grand dog named Luna who belongs to Tom. She is so sweet, just like you. We enjoy doggie sitting for her and Otis. Sending lots of love as always, MOM & DAD xoxoxox
July 8, 2013--It's hard to believe that three years has passed since you left us for Rainbow Bridge. You are still in our hearts and memories. Dad even got a tattoo of a tennis ball with your name on it over his heart. I know he misses playing ball with you across the street. Comet, our little Mini Australian Shepherd, has filled in for you. Boy, can he run fast after the ball!! You would have had so much fun with him. Everybody else is fine. Tate is almost 18 years old and doing as well as can be expected. He loves to visit us. Chester, Sophie, Otis, Luna, Quincy, and Dora are all healthy and blessing our lives with their presence every day. They all miss you, too. You are forever in our hearts. With all our love and puppy hugs and kisses. MOM & DAD XOXOXOX PS: I left a nice bone for you.
July 8, 2015--Gosh, how time flys, my dear Penny. I guess I missed leaving you a message last year because we had just moved and were very busy. We still think of you often. Our Mini Australian Shepherds, Comet and Sophie, are fine as is Chester. We love our new home but there isn't as much room for the dogs to run around. Dad takes them daily for a walk in the dog park. Comet loves fetching the tennis ball, as you did. We go out every night and play. We miss you and have many pictures of you still around the house. Oh, yes, we found a great lake nearby which you would have loved to swim in. Comet will fetch the ball out in the lake as you loved to do. Rest in peace, dear Penny. All our love, MOM & DAD
Penny's People Parent(s), Suzanne & John, would appreciate knowing you have visited their Penny's Memorial Residency.
