Memories of Rockie Long

He had a beautiful soul. He could look into my eyes and know how if felt. He still showed much delight in living, especially going for walks. His excitement reminded me of a two-year old utterly filled with glee. He was a good leader to his littermate brother, Smokie, and he would often "groom" him. He often hid his secret "sins" out in the yard where I would eventually find them. He gave me lots of kisses and would even give a quick smack coming in from outside before he would sit with me. He was the best companion and kept me company, especially in the morning when I drank my coffee. The quiet times were the best, when he would just me near me, and I would be stroking him and giving him kisses, and he would melt. His whole adorable demeanor would make me smile and fill my day with joy. I will miss my special blessing, precious child, and dearly beloved friend for as long as I live, and until we meet again. Thank you, Rockie, my sweetie forever.
