Memories of Rocky Garth Brooks

Memories . . . . . there are 15 1/2 years of them. Funny, Sad, Happy, Sweet, Losses and Gains but all are memories of a little guy though born a "runt" and very tiny still opened his eyes before all the others,always got his Mommie's good milkies first, fought back from the brink of death from a dog attack, struggled his last months with diabetes and two shots a day, blind and deaf still fought back at everything life sent his way and with his little head held high. He was a "Handsome Dude" and my what a lover. He served his little wife "Polly" with all he had and protected her in times of danger. His second little wife "Moo Moo" he groomed and cared for her even when he could barely walk himself. . . . for his love was unconditional and he gave every ounce he had to all of us he served. A little blonde silky haired wirehaired daschund couldn't have given more as he gave from the depth of his little sweet heart. A free giver of kisses and an awareness of your giving care to him so many times when his little body writhed in pain from a dog attack . . . . never once did he nip at us as we tenderly nursed him back to health. So aware of our love for him and us so aware of his love to us. From day one he was ours. Given to us by dear friends, later known to him as his Grandma Gina and Grandpa Jim, he was with us literally from conception. Their baby, Ralphy was now a Daddy and we were given the privilege of raising his little boy. No greater gift has ever been given to us. From five weeks old he started his career of driving. Across country and all around town. He drove on my knee from Nashville, Tn. to San Diego, Ca. by way of Denver and San Fransico on several occasions. His favorite things to do was to drive and to sun bath in a warm spot in front of the storm door. If we could list all of his qualities it would take far more room than we have for this Memorial. His unconditional love and the softness of his little silky body which we've buried our face in many times as we played and kissed and made each other happy are things that will remain in our heart and on our lips. We will always feel his kiss on our cheek and the brush of his fur on our arm as he wiggled his way under the covers at night. So now our little angel, go with God speed to the Rainbow Bridge with the promise and knowing we'll keep it, to pick you up one day soon as we just know that God will have you and Polly and Petey and Bea waiting. In the meantime we will keep your love in our heart and the love you gave we will try to continue to give to as many other babies as cross our path before we meet again. And know that we will continue to share your love and the love we have for her with your little Moo. Meanwhile, have fun running and romping and playing with your friends and know that it was because of our very deep unconditional love for you that we were able to let you go. No more shots or pain or sadness or just being tired. You handsome little dude, you now are perfect again. You were as beautiful today as you passed over the Rainbow Bridge as you were the day you were born. Just like God sent you to us, will he give you back again some day. We know that to be true because He has promised us that Heaven will be perfect so that has to mean with all our babies gathered around us forever and ever and ever. We love you and we take comfort in knowing that you knew how very much we did. You will be sorely missed but not for long. See you soon our precious boy. Your Ditty and Mommie
