Memories of Rocky
| Rocky gave us 15 years of love, joy and companionship. His personality was very 'formal', with a wonderful and very dry sense of humor. He loved the condo in Iveys; the wide window sills and climbing up to overhead exposed pipes. When it came time to move our new house in Cornelius, he had his front paws on 'Daddy's' right shoulder as though he was a co-pilot navigating our way. He and his sister, Adrienne were best of companions. They loved the freedom to go outside now, to catch butterflies, mice and even a small snake one day! They brought in large pine cones from the yard, as gifts, as well. Our last move was to an apartment. They still got to go outside, as there is a very large roof they could play on. Rocky loved to perch on the way and oversee any and all 'goings on' down below. His hiding space was under the cover of the 'fire pit', where he thought no one could see him! One day, Rocky brought me a big beautiful red cardinal that he placed in my purse. What a gift! Fortunately, I was able to return it to the outdoors and freedom. Not long ago, - when Rocky appeared missing, 'Daddy' searched other back yards to find him near the Cat Hotel. Apparently Rocky had fallen or spooked by hawks. Fortunately he had nothing more than soft tissue damage and healed fairly quickly. He, and his Sweet Sister, Adrienne have enriched our lives. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. |
