Ruger baby - mommy and daddy were so distraught at the loss of you. It tore us apart to lose our #1 baby. No matter the person, you always gave 100% unconditional love. You were 90 pounds of the most gentle giving love anyone could imagine. To see you running up the field with all your might, to greet me at the door when I came home. You didn't just wag your tail - you wagged your entire body. You had such an incredible intimate gentle way of interacting with people - i will forever remember how you gently would put your paw on a leg or lap - and then slowly lay on your back and ask - please rub my tummy. No one could ever refuse you. |
No matter what happened in your life - you gave love unconditionally - you had no other emotion in you but pure love. It was not fair in anyway that you were taken so tragically. Mommy wishes every day that she had seen the car running the stop sign. But baby, we were out under the moon running our morning run - your most favorite thing each day. And I thank God that I was able to be holding you when you slipped from this world to the next. I know you came out of shock right before you left - long enough to look at me and say with your eyes - mommy I will wait for you.
Ruger baby so many people mourned your passing, many of the teens drew pictures and wrote poems, your aunt Toni painted a beautiful picture of you showing you going into Jesus arms, Larry made a video of you complete with music and a poem. Your fiesty aunt Toni even had the papers run a story about your death and how people should not run stop signs - or at least get out and help when they cause harm. Baby you touched so many lives - and I miss you incredibly.
Ruger baby - mommy will come running to get you when it is time - until then enjoy swimming and playing with the other kids!
Sep 26, 2016 - Ruger, you are still in my mind and heart. Each year I come to this site to reread and bask in your memories. I feel you around me sometimes - and am grateful that you visit. You are more than a dog - you are an incredible light and energy - touching so many lives still to this day.
