Memories of SABRE

Thirteen and a half years with the best friend I have ever had.... days don't pass without a thought about the "SABE". He came into my life in early January, 1988. He was a tiny ball of fur only 5 1/2 weeks old. There were problems at the kennel and I didn't know the ramifications of taking a puppy away from its mom at that early age. The boy had a few problems related to the event. Thyroid, allergies etc. Certainly didn't take away from his enthusiasm. He had a weight problem (don't we all?) that led to him having both cruciate ligaments replaced in his hind legs in 1999 and 2000. He took both operations in stride and seemed to understand that everyone involved was there to help him. He will be having a little brother soon.. should be born around the 21st of October 2001. "Creemore" will be coming to his new home in mid December. I am looking forward to the event... been reading "Golden Retreivers for Dummies" and hope what I have learned will make Creemore's life as happy as Sabre made my life!!
