Memories of Stormy
When our first Fur baby, Tawny was 3 years old, we thought about getting another kitten. Gene said we should wait and see if our vet knew of any. The next day we had to get special food for Tawny at the Vet's and on the counter sat this tiny precious little kitten. Of course I picked her up and held her. They announced that she needed a good home, so that was all I needed to hear. Gene's comment was, "I've been set up!" Stormy had a sad story to tell at her young age. Because of her coloring we named her Stormy. She was from a large litter of 9, but some animal attacked them and she was the only survivor. She saw all her siblings die violently. She was very timid and a real "scardycat." At first, she refused to sleep and would walk around exhausted unless I put her on my lap; then she would sleep. Even til her last day, sudden noises or movements would scare her. She was my kitty; she slept with me, met me at the door, was on my lap every chance she got. She was our eternal kitten, always small and always acting and playing like a kitten. We had 13 years with her until she developed cancer and we watched her slip away. She will live in our hearts forever.
