3/31/05 - Sweet Sugar Bear... you were only with us for two weeks, but the pain of losing you is so great it seems you were with us for a lifetime. You were truly a lady, so docile and trusting, so soft, so pretty. We keep thinking of all of the things we wanted to do with you... cook-outs on the patio, cheering the Cubs on to the World Series together, walks in Autumn. But most of all we are happy that we were able to provide you with a warm home and unlimited love in your last days. The night before you left us there was a beautiful double rainbow. We now know the rainbow was Blackhawk, Annie and Daisy showing you where Rainbow Bridge is. We're sure they are taking good care of you. Until we can be together again, please always know how much we love you, Sugie Boogie. 12/7/05 Mummy was looking out at the snow and thinking about you this morning, Sugie Boogie. Thinking about how you were found in the snow. And hoping that was not why your poor little legs eventually could no longer keep you standing. I still cry when I think of how we wished so very, very badly that we could have had more than two short weeks with you. But we also know you were in pain those last two days. You are no longer in pain now, my love. Kiss your sisters for us, and take care little Sugar Bear. 3/31/06 A year ago today, Sugar Bear... and tears still spring to my eyes when I think of you. I console myself only by remembering that at least your last two weeks of life were in a warm, dry home filled with love for you. And your sisters, Blackhawk, Annie and Daisy, are making sure you continue to stay warm, dry and loved. Sweet dreams, Sugie Boogie... you will always be very, very loved. :) 3/31/07 Two years now, Sugie Boogie. And our daffodils started blooming for you this past week. Although you were only with us two weeks, the memories from those two weeks seem as if we had you much longer. We will make something on the grill for you tonight. We didn't have a chance to find out what your absolute favorite is, but I'm sure you will love whatever we make for you... that is how very sweet you are. We'll also watch for your star in the sky tonight. Kisses and HUGE hugs for you, sweet Sugar Bear. 3/31/08 Three years...it just doesn't seem that long. Very often when Mummy glance at the couch from the kitchen, she remembers your sweet face gazing at her over the back of the couch. We love you so very much, Sugar Bear. Sweet dreams, love. 3/31/09 Four years now, Sugie Boogie. And even though you were with us for such a very short time, we still clearly remember your sweet face. Last week we were to have a snow storm that I thought for sure would do your daffodils in, but the storm turned out to be very weak, and the daffodils are getting ready to bloom for you.
