Memories of Windsor
|
Windsor, When you were born, you were the Aussie I had always wanted, blue merle with white and copper and 'blue eyes'. I just had to keep you. You went to a dog show on the day you turned 3 months old. Baby, You were so cute, you took the show. We came home with all kinds of ribbons and awards. You had medical problems from the age of 3 months old. Beginning with Demodex, to your biting into a electrical cord and nearly electricuting yourself, one problem after another. You were doctored and doctored and taken to veterinarians many, many times, until you flat refused to go through the doors to a veterinarians office again. You went the last five years of your life without seeing a vet and without even a rabies shot. Your left ear hurt you, you would scratch it and cry, scratch it and cry. But in between the pain you were so full of life and love and happiness. Someone said to me, "Why don't you just put him to sleep?". Why, I couldn't do that, you were still happy and other than the pain in your ear, you LOVED LIVING. Your Daddy spent extra care in feeding you every night for years. He stuffed allergy pills inside pieces of weiners, as one vet told him that your chronic ear infections were caused by allergies. It didn't help much, but daddy felt better because he truly believed it helped you. Thanks to you, Windsor, little Jenna discovered that she was not afraid of dogs, as she had been taught she was. You were so sweet to Jenna, you would follow her around and lie down, spread your legs, begging to have your tummy rubbed. Once she got used to rubbing your tummy, you and Jenna had a special bond. She loved you and you loved her. You were a very special dog and a very special best friend. Storm and Jordan loved you also. I have pictures of Jordan and you rolling in the dirt in the back yard in Elgin. And I have pictures of you lying on your back with little Ellie when she was at our house. You followed her around just like you did Jenna when she was little. Yes........you loved kids, very much, and they loved you back. I remember when we lived in Sandollar RV Park, Tony and Sherry and their girls loved you so much, they kept their camper door open for you all the time. You would go in and stay in their air conditioning and they even let you lie on their bed. Any time you were missing, we knew where to find you. Mama and Daddy and Jenna, and many others will never forget you nor stop loving you. We will see you one day in Heaven, Windsor. "Rock'N Windsor of Hymark", born of Rock and Sasha, both champion bloodlines that didn't even matter to you. Thank you for bringing so much joy to our lives.......This tribute is the least we could do for you until we meet again. |
