Just a little over a year ago I came home from Battle of the bands at my high school. I saw my baby Chester laying in the back room panting to catch his breath. It was about 1:30 in the morning and me and my mom were really worried about him. We decided that we had to take him to the vet. We went to the emergency vet at 2. I never thought this would be my last night with him. While we were standing in the office waiting for the vet a crazy thought came to my mind... what if we had to put him to sleep... the doctor came in and told us that this was the case. I broke down. How could this be he was the best cat ever. From the first time I held him he would give me kisses he was my cat and we were NEVER apart. I picked him up and fell to the ground. I burried hy face in him and cried untill my mom finally pried us apart. The vet carried Chester into the back room and told me I could go back and say good-bye. But how do you say good-bye to something that means sooooo much to you. The saddest moment was when he looked at me and tried to give me just one last kiss but he was too weak. The hardest part for me was that he was only 1year old. Since then my mom got a new cat, Snickers, but he never filled the hole in my heart. For my birthday this past June Chester sent me a gift. He gave me an angel, his name is Ernie and although he will never replace Chester he has brought joy back into my life. Please wait for me Chester, I look forward to the day when I will finally get my long awaited kiss.
