Cats

Without a sound they enter our lives Sleek slender bodies stalking A new life bound to an old spirit Creeping through the grasses of our souls with burning eyes Sharpening their claws on the bark of our hearts Soft silent pads walking in and out of our lives Quietly haunting the corners of our existence With hearts of cedar and sage they come Inviting us along on their journey through time With eyes of fire they mold us into their slaves Allowing us to join their cosmic voyage They bless us with their presence, an eternal presence Touch us with their love And in a whisper they are gone Floating flying fleeting through the universe Moving traveling shifting through space and time And we are left earthbound Heavy as a mountain Our hearts forever scarred by their claws Our souls burned by their eyes
