My Best Friend
by Bill Abate
As I watched the doctor Take your red collar Off your lifeless body She handed it to me and said Im so, so very sorry But before when you went, I knew your soul was leaving As you smiled at me and mommy I said good bye As I walked away I listened to the cart Go back through the doors And couldnt feel anything but pain and sorrow I hoped to see you again I know I will You were much to young I watched a whole life pass From beginning to end You were kinda like my best friend So wait for me in Heaven can't wait to see you Ilove you Nikki January 25, 2005
