My son had a best friend
by Sabrina Aguirre
My son was 2. It was his 2nd birthday that we were celebrating. He had just finished opening his last gift when my brother in law walked in with a square package. Inside beheld my son's new beginning. It was a tortoise the size of a quarter, he and my son grew and learned together. He was extra important to my son because when my little boy entered grade school, he was a foot short for his age. So he didn't have very many friends, but he still had his tortoise, then, when the tortoise was the size of a soccerball, he entered Rainbow's Bridge. And my baby boy shall never smile again, until they meet, in Rainbow's bridge.
