Our Beloved Mighty
by Randy Crossman
Our Beloved Mighty We cannot tell you how much we miss you. You were, and still are, and always will be, such a big part of our lives. Yesterday, the 4th November, 2004 was the saddest day of our lives - the day you left us. We were not prepared for you to go - we never would be. You left so quickly - we hope you felt no pain. I hope your last breath was in my arms. The house feels so empty without you. It will never feel the same again. I hope you are in a wonderful place now - happy, being loved and cared for, and in no pain. You were the best friend and companion anyone could ask for. You gave us so much love and joy. I hope you know how much we love you - we always will. I hope over your time with us that you did not suffer. I worry that you may have - that we may have missed signs that you were unwell or in pain. Pleae forgive us if we did. We tried our best. We have so many wonderful memories of you. The wonderful looks you gave us when you wanted something or wanted us to do something for you. We understood each other. How we loved your walk, your smile, how you wagged your beautiful tail, your bark. I loved you sittting on my lap in the car. You did so enjoy drives in the car, flying your ears, feeding the fish, your daily walks, fighting with the towel, your afternoons at the golf course and of course lying on our bed or on/in one of your many beds. You were so patient in letting me dress you up for Halloween and Christmas. You looked so wonderful. Of how I wish we had more photos of you. We cherish the ones we do have. We will miss you kisses and cuddles, and just sitting with us. We had hoped for so much more time. Seven years was not enough for us. Mum and Dad had the joy of having you for two and a half years. I hope we didn't make a mistake by bringing Midget into our home. We felt sorry for her and wanted to give her a home. I hope she didn't bother you too much. It worries me that she may have. I wanted her to be a companion for you. To keep you young. I hope she did bring you some joy. I hope we did not hurt your feelings by bringing her into our home. I hope you were not hurt by our sharing our love with her. You were, are, and always will be the love of our lives. We would not intentionally do anything to upset you or harm you in any way. Please forgive us if this was not the right decision. I worry that you felt we loved you less by loving Midget as well - nothing could be further from the truth. I hope you did not die from a broken heart. We can't thank you enough for all the love and joy you bought to our lives. I hope you know how much we love you. Words can not express how much you mean to us. You will be forever in our hearts and minds and souls. Take care sweetheart. Til we meet again. OUR BELOVED MIGHTY - FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS. Your loving Mum (Randy) and Dad (Rodger).
