Punkin
by Shannna Dighera
Punky was euthanized last nite. Her heart condition suddenly worsened and I decided it was in her best interest to let her go. She was a good dog, I'll remember all the fun times we shared... Sneaking you into the food festival in my shirt. Going for bike rides with you in my backpack or a basket on my bike. You eating my mom's cheddar melt sandwich (on the last day it was available too!) Dressing you up in doll clothes and pushing you around in a doll stroller in Shopko You eating a whole Little Caesar's pan pizza while we went to the store for pop You and Muffin digging a hole out of the yard and going to "doggy jail" The time Richie gave you piece of chocolate chip cookie and I punched him in the nose How mad I would get when Rich called you "Money" The time you buried a bunch of biscuits under Martin's pillow How you tried to bite anyone who tried to wake Katrina up for school How you tried to bite any dog who got near your "lap" How you would play with the cat's furry mouse toys When you pood in the backseat of Wes' car on our second date. Your endless sniffing and wandering around the house for no apparent reason (she was going senile towards the end) Your crying every morning to wake me up and let me know it was time to go out How when you had your head out the car window, you looked like the creature from the Neverending Story. How you were always there for me with a wagging tail and warm tongue I will always love you Punky and miss you dearly, I'll see you in heaven. In Memory of Punkin Annie Poo (Kerplunkin, Punky Brew) June 21st, 1990-March 25th, 2005
