Dear Grace
by Liz Eastman
Dear Grace, So the time has come for us to say goodbye. How quickly the 12 years of your life have gone by. I want to thank you for all that you have given me. I am a better person because of you. You have taught me the meaning of unconditional love. As I sit here at the computer, I miss looking over my shoulder and seeing your wonderful face staring at me. I miss the circular tail wags that you gave whenever I walked through the door. I miss the kisses that you showered me with at any chance that you got. I miss stepping over you as I exited the shower in the mornings. I miss our morning routine you in the yard and me in the kitchen watching you from the window. I miss seeing you run across the yard chasing squirrels or barking at the people next door. I miss watching you ignore me when your grandma was preparing your dinner. I miss sitting in the kitchen late into the night as you mediated on your porch. Life will go on, but I will never forget you. Please say Hi to Rusty and Alasce for me. Give my grandma a kiss. I know that you are in her care now. And thats okay by me because she is the best. Thanks again my creature-feature (I wont mention all the other nicknames that you had) for your unconditional love. Rest In Peace
