Tabitha
by Tegan Harteveld
Before I was born, Tabitha was around. She was a little 4yr old brown tabby and she was extremely petite. When life didn't seem to go right, I used to snuggle up to Tabs and she sat there purring on my knee. She gave always made me cheer up. When you were 18yrs, we noticed you were sleeping a lot and blood was in your urine, but the vets thought it was sistitus. That cleared up and then you got the flu. At such a fragile age, the vet didnt think you would survive but you proved them wrong. A few days later you were back to your usual self. You lived happy until January 2003 when the vet told us you had cancer in the bladder. He predicted 6 months to a year to live. I thought she would live longer but when March came, things got worst. 30th March came and we took you to the vets as you had gone off your food. The vet said you were in real good shape and said if she gets worst bring her in. 3rd April, you still hadn't eaten anything and u didnt have the strength to stand up. We knew the day had come to let you go. We took you to the vets for the last time and it was there that your soul went to heaven at the young age of 20yrs. All of us were crying. Including my dad who seem strong in these situations. I miss you so much Tabby. I know we have two other adorable kittens but they arent you. Be in Peace my little angel.
