Lucky
by Jade Kacey
Lucky was my pet lab, who i loved very much and miss dearly, my mum got me him for my birthday when i was seven, when i opened the box and saw the little black ball of fur, that was yapping and squirming, i picked him up and cuddled him for hours.we had had him for a few weeks, when he got sick and my mum took him to the vets, when she came home, she had a bag full of different medications, and told me that he had cancer, i cried for hours after that, and i took him up to my room, where i told him that i loved him and i will never forget him. after a few days, things began to look up and i was sitting in the living room, playing with him, when he lay down and covered his eyes with his paws. i was really scared, and so i made him as comfortable as i could, after a few minutes, the crying subdued. later on in the night, i woke up and as soon as i picked him up, i could tell that something was wrong. i lay him on my knee and cried, i told him that i loved him and that he will always be remembered. He died in my arms that night and i lay him in his bed and i lay there sobbing. i am thirteen now and i still remember it as if it was yesterday! lucky my little baby, i will always remember you, and i hope that you are happy.
