Cooper was a little white Jack Russell with a "peanut butter eye" as my 4 year old daughter Autumn liked to say. My best friend and his wife were watching Cooper while my wife and I were having our baby boy Bryce, born on 10/14/04. Cooper apparently got out on the 15th and we looked for him for over 2 weeks. I got a call from a lady who had hit a dog with my phone number on his tag. I rushed over immediately and it was Coop. I scooped him up and drove straight to the vet emergency center. He looked like he would be ok and he was just in shock. The vet came out 5 minutes later and told me his spine was broken and he had to be put to sleep. It's the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. Cooper was my best friend for almost 7 years. Through all my ups and downs, good moods and bad moods, he was the constant bright light. My wife and stepdaughter loved him to. He never got to see my baby boy Bryce. He was so protective of Trisha while she was pregnanat. I know Cooper and Bryce would have been best friends. It breaks my heart every time I think about it. I still cry to this day. He was such a good soul. The world looks a little bit darker now that Cooper is gone and a piece of my heart went with him. I hope and cherish the day that I can see him in Heaven eating an endless supply of Pupperonis and chasing tennis balls all day long.
