My Friend
by Alan LaPine
When my friend left me the other day I was upset at him. He left in such a hurry I never got to say good-bye. When he left before, it was never long until I saw him again. This time it will be forever. You see my friend died that night...he was in a traffic accident. I never got to say good-bye, I never got to say I love you, I never got to tell my friend that, that was what he was...My Best Friend...We used to play catch, chase eachother around the yard, westle and, lay around just to be together. He was the first one to me when I broke my ankle, He was the first one to greet me when I walked in the door. He was the first one I saw in the morning and, usually the last one I saw at night. He was my son but, He was not my child. He was my love but, he was not my wife. He was my closest brother but, He was not my sibling. He was My Best Friend; He was My Dog... KADO
