Missing you
by Ashley Munoz
My dog I have had since she was 1 year old. she was 6 when she died. My heart was broken forever.... As I stepped out onto the porch on that cold November night with my friends, I didn't know I should have been saying a PASSIONATE good-bye to my best friend Baby-Dog. She was my child of 6-years-old and she was a dauchshund. We headed to the store to get some milk and chips and I didn't even notice the front door and screen left open. We piled into our toyota truck and began to back up. We rolled over a small bump and we all looked at one another. My blue healer dog came around the corner of our house and my mom said, "Oh my god, Baby-Dog!" I huuridly jumped out of the truck after my mother and dashed into the house without thinking. I hadn't even ran to my babies side when she was in pain. But for some reason I knew what I was doing. I quickly grabbed a phone book and then went to the section that said EMERGENCY VETERINARIANS! I called two places that were closed and got lucky the third time. We took the dog to the vet and hurried inside. It seemed like the longest drive of my life. My friends and I waited for what seemed like forever before I got to go back where my mom was. The vet told me that we had two choices and i will quote them for you. " Either you can have a surgery that will cost about two-thousand dollars, and theres a large chance that she won't make it, or you can have her be put to rest." I cried so hard at those words she was saying and then had her take me to where my baby was. she looked so sad laying on that hospital bed and that's when I made my choice. "Put her to sllep." Then iot went by so fast. She injected a needle into my baby the 10 seconds later she was limp. I cried so hard and the vet said, "Would you like to take her collar?" I said nothing and took it from around her neck. I remember everything that happened that night and I know that my dog's in a better place and she will be til' I meet up with her in heaven!
