We may not be together
in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord,
only Lacey and I can see.
So whenever I think of you,
It makes it seem, we are not apart,
Because I know, if you look beyond the rainbow
we can listen with our hearts.
Love is worth the pain and perhaps impossible without it.
As time passes, with all creatures of the earth,
there are those things that have passed before us,
so those here now can go forth,
as has been in all of earth's time.
Never to be forgotten, Lacey, my beloved dog.
