Today must be saturday
by Jim Payne
Today be Must Saturday Today must be Saturday. The sun came up before Mommy-Daddy got out of bed. Something big is happening today, Mommy-Daddy got up early. They have been talking about Saturday all week. Mommy-Daddy cried a lot this week. Daddy gave me Two kinds of my favorite foods today. I wasnt very hungry. Daddy cried again. Daddy took me outside this morning to my backyard. It was kind of chilly, my Daddy held me close to keep me warm. Daddy keeps crying though and getting my head wet. Daddy let me walk back into the house. I like to walk in on my own. Daddy and I went looking for Mommy. We found Mommy in the spare bedroom. Mommy opened the window and set me on a pillow in my window. I love my Mommy-Daddy. We all go back to the bedroom. Mommy-Daddy kept petting me, talking to me and crying. I dont like it when Mommy-Daddy cry. Mommy called someone, can we bring Zacky in between 10 and 11 noon okay, Mommy starts crying again. We all went back to the kitchen, Mommy-Daddy give me some milk. What a treat, Mommy-Daddy never give me milk, it isnt good for me. Daddy picks me up again, here he goes getting my head wet again. Daddy keeps shaking. It isnt cold in here. I want down, Daddy lets me down and we all head back to the bedroom again. Wait Mommy, Daddy isnt with us. Here he is now. We can continue. Wait Daddy, Mommy fell behind. Here she comes. We can go again. Mommy-Daddy start talking about Skeeter and Gigi and Sasha and Mandy, I havent seen them in a very long time, I perk up to hear more. I keep hearing them call to me, though I cant see them. Mandy tells me Mommy and Daddy will help me to get to them. Mommy-Daddy wrap me in a clean towel, fresh from the dryer. Its nice and warm. We drive to the Doctors office. They leave us alone for awhile. Mommy and Daddy keep crying. The Doctor comes in. Were all ready Daddy tells him. Even Zacky is ready. The Doctor puts a little needle in my arm, I feel strange. Here come my sisters to help me cross the bridge. I love my Mommy and Daddy. Thank you for helping me cross the bridge. I will meet you right here someday. I love you. Bye.
