Animal Kingdom

The animal kingdom, what a place,
so many animals, so much space.
A place for animals when they go home,
with so much room for them to roam.
Some animals lives are full of love
before they return to their kingdom above.
But for others its a different story,
pain and torment before their glory.
Some stories you hear make you shiver,
kittens in bags go in the river,
dogs can be bred just to fight,
they cannot argue about their plight.
Cats and dogs can be kicked into the street,
left alone with nothing to eat.
Horses in fields can be left for a while,
hungry and cold no longer they smile.
Animals kept in cages for testing;
with no way out, they are not resting.
Animals are killed for human gain,
bags coats and shoes are made from their pain.
A puppy can be for Christmas we know,
but when it is over it might have nowhere to go.
Remember animals have feelings too,
but they dont have a voice like me and you.
If we see someone cruel it is up to us,
to speak for the animal, to make a fuss..
Animals will always be a trusty friend;
if lots of us speak this cruelty could end.
No more violence no more pain,
reaching Rainbow Bridge to be loved again.
