Chester the Contestor
by Sandi Reynolds
Chester the contester was a vocal kind of cat He sat atop the dryer so to climb upon one's back Chester didn't mind if what was drying was still dank He ached to walk along one's back, his way of "playing a prank" Though Chester's moved beyond our realm, I know he's still a-lurk Why, maybe he is resting on the back of Kenneth Burke! While we are sad, we know that Chester is "somewhere", meowing loudly He saying: "Thank you, mama Sandi, for loving me so proudly" I will look for Chester's spirit at my local laundromat Chester, may you perch in peace Good pet, good friend, good cat by Emily White
