My cocker Sadie was born on February 10th,1991 and she was my world, I was so use to her "just being around" we talked and played and walked all the time she was my best friend, On February 4th,2004 I went home for lunch and found that Sadie had had a stroke (when I left that morning Sadie had been in perfect health) she could not walk very well and my poor baby seemed "lost" I picked her up and rushed her to vet, once in the room they took Sadie to the work area once they had examined her they brought her back to me and I held her waiting for the doctor to come into the room and tell me what was going on, The doctor came into the room and said "Rob Sadie has had a massive stroke and she is not doing well" he said that I had a few choices and he told me the choices and left the room I held Sadie in my lap for about 40 mintues and the doctor returned I told him that I was ready to let my baby girl go and he told me that he would get the shot, I just held Sadie and our hearts were talking she told me that she was ready to go , and thanked me for making her life so special, as I sat the final couples minutes waiting on the doctor I started praying for a miracle it was in that moment I realized Sadie was the miracle that had been given to me almost 13 years ago, as the doctor did the injection Sadie laid in my arms relaxed and calm I told her that I loved her and how wonderful she was and then she was gone, I held her for 10 more minutes asked the tech for a lock of her beautiful blonde hair, and left her with them, she was cermated and her urn is a beautiful mahogany box fit for a queen. I am at peace knowing Sadie had the best possible life, each night I still look up at the stars and my eyes immediately go to the brightest star because I know that is my Sadie looking down on me, for she is and always will be my Diamond in the sky
