A Poem for Jake
by Martyn Stanley
Hello Bubba we used to say. Throw your mouse and watch you play. Smiling away and sitting proud. Fur as cuddly and soft as a cloud. On that night, we thought youd gone. We called your name for far too long. Hoping that youd come home Believing that youd gone to roam Another day had gone past. We thought you left us running fast. The news what happened was taken hard. You were not supposed to leave the yard. Youve left a gap in our hearts and house. Mummys kept you little mouse. You gave us love and lots of joy. We will see you soon our little boy.
