An Ode to Rambo
by Arlene Zayne
An Ode to Rambo Beautiful eyes of deep denim blue That always said, "you know I love you" Mutual cat kiss eye blinks That said "I knows what ya thinks" The paw that would grab for my hand and say "I'm really not done with you petting me this way" Big beautiful fat white boy Who only brought me pounds of JOY A truly old soul who taught me in life No matter how much we love, we must say goodbye Purrs so loud that put me to sleep Always knowing I would want to keep His paws wrapped around my head as I slept... And then I wrapped mine around him and I wept As I sent him to cat heaven On carpets of stars And the moonbeams then told me He was in the arms Of ones that I've loved so much in the past And that when finally I leave here I'll hold him at last.....again My Dear Old Rambo, my Rambikins of the Lambikins, my little old man... I love you... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rambo was an extraordinary cat As close to human as a cat can get I'm glad that he was able to maintain his "catness" And at the same time, lower himself to the human level! I'll miss him so much!!! ...So thank you for indulging in me in reading my farewell ode to my best animal friend ever in my life...Now you know who the angel on the top of my christmas tree is!
